We provide a free lifetime placement service; and although LIBI cannot promise or guarantee employment to any student or graduate, LIBI assists all graduates by arranging interviews with potential employers, and informing graduates of job opportunities.

Students who apply for admission are interviewed and are required to take an entrance examination. The results of this test alert us to individual strengths and weaknesses and enable us to respond effectively to individual needs. Those applicants with a college degree are exempt from the entrance examination.

Admissions > Admission Requirements
1.High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma (General Education Development – GED – now in New York State: TASC). Students who do not have a High School or HSE Diploma may be admitted as Ability to Benefit” (ATB) students only to our Office Technology Diploma Program if they pass CPAt with the following minimum scores: Language Usage, 43; Reading, 45; Numerical Skills, 44. Applicants without a GED are encouraged to follow online instruction such as provided by for fast results.
2. Pre-admission interview.
3.Students enrolling in the Court Reporting program or the Medical Transcription program must score a minimum of 140 on the CPAt test. Students enrolling in all other programs must score a minimum or 130 on the CPA test.
4.Students enrolling in programs consisting of at least two semesters must take the Written Assessment Test.
5.Students placed in developmental ESL courses must first pass the NYPt oral test with a minimum score of 31, and then score no less than 31 on the CELSA test.
6. Applicants with a college degree are exempt from Entrance Examinations.

LIBI accepts qualified transfer students. At the discretion of the Academic Dean, advanced standing may be granted after evaluation of the student’s prior transcript(s).
